Questions
How easy is it to fit?
The Plasma Clean Xtract is designed for quick and easy installation. It can be mounted on the wall or flat surface and the outlet tube simply feeds into the kitchen canopy. The unit is then plugged into the mains and switched on. The unit is automated so that ozone is released into the kitchen canopy when the kitchen ventilation extraction canopy is switched on. The Plasma Clean Xtract unit is supplied with full fitting instructions.
Does this mean that I don't have to use any chemicals?
Yes. Ozone is produced directly from oxygen in the air so there is no need for any deodorising chemicals which can be expensive and tend to mask rather than neutralize odours.
What are the day to day running costs?
Less than 50p per day.
Does Plasma Clean offer a service and maintenance contract?
Yes. The Plasma Clean Xtract system is supported by an optional maintenance contract. This includes a yearly inspection and full service to ensure that you stay in control of your odour emissions.
What is ozone?
Ozone is a powerful natural oxidant which neutralises pollutants in the air and on surfaces. It is formed in nature by lightning which is why the air feels so fresh after a thunderstorm. At Plasma Clean, our scientists and engineers have recreated this effect in a safe user-friendly way, to create a product which utilizes the combined deodorising and cleansing properties of ozone.
How safe is ozone?
Ozone is a powerful oxidant and there are Health and Safety Guidelines which govern the occupational exposure limits in the working environment. The Plasma Clean Xtract is designed so that ozone is released directly into the kitchen canopy and only operates when the extraction system is switched on. This prevents build up of ozone in the kitchen area. As an additional precaution our units are fitted with a power cut-off switch in the unlikely event that ozone is released into the working area.
Why is the Plasma Clean tract a better solution than UV?
- The Plasma Clean tract is inexpensive to install and maintain with the added benefit of lower running costs than UV systems
- The Plasma Clean tract sits outside of the air stream and quietly injects ozone into the kitchen canopy where it immediately reacts with odours and grease; UV systems on the other hand are placed in the waste air stream so that grease and odour laden air can pass through
- UV systems placed in the air stream adds to the air handling requirements, can be noisy, and also results in UV tubes becoming laden with grease and smoke particles resulting in poor performance and an additional maintenance burden
- Finally, why not try it and see how quickly and simply one of our systems can be installed with minimum downtime
