David Glover PhD - Managing Director and Founder
Before joining Plasma Clean, David spent over 10 years in the development and commercialisation of technology-based businesses. In his role of Business Manager at UMIP David played a key role in the business development and funding of a range of technology start-ups including Nanoco Technologies a highly successful start-up in the field of nanotechnology. David believes in a hands-on approach to developing businesses and as Managing Director of Plasma Clean, David has involvement in all levels of the business to ensure delivery of product to the customer.
David has a BSc (Joint Honours) in Marine Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Wales and a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of East Anglia.
Christopher Whitehead - Founder
Christopher is an active member of the University of Manchester School of Chemistry Plasma Research programme, contributing extensively to research work involved in the investigation of the environmental applications of plasma chemistry. For many years, his research has concentrated on the dynamics and kinetics of reactions and photodissociation processes involving atoms and radicals in the gas-phase, in clusters and on surfaces with particular emphasis on the role played by electronically-excited species. Recently, this has focussed on the chemistry taking part in gas discharges or plasmas and the use of these plasmas for the treatment of waste gas streams such as diesel exhausts and solvents, for the purification of indoor air and the destruction of odours and the fabrication of electronic devices by the plasma etching of semiconductors.
Chris has a B.Sc. (I) in Chemical Physics from the University of Edinburgh, a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (C.Chem, FRSC). Chris has over 20 years experience of research and applications in plasma chemistry and is the inventor of the patent behind Plasma Screen.
Robin Elshout BSc CEng MCIBSE - Production Director
Robin has built a successful track record in the design, manufacture and supply of a range of products for numerous applications in air cleaning (deoderisation and purification) having established his own business in the Midlands.
The company has been instrumental in the evolution of Plasma Clean from a seedling company to developing a series of pre-production prototype models launching the Company into the worldwide market place.
Robin brings over 20 years manufacturing and entrepreneurial experience into Plasma Clean as well as a strong network of customers in the deoderisation and purification market. His wide experience and knowledge working as a Building Services Consulting Engineer both in the UK and the USA in his early career, has been extremely beneficial in the design and application of new Plasma filtration systems.
He is a member of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and a Chartered Engineer of 10 years standing.
