Veritech High Efficiency Grease Filters

The Veritech High Efficiency Grease Filters are designed to capture oil and grease in commercial kitchen extraction canopies. The filters are uniquely designed to capture up to 94.6% of grease particles, in comparison to only 40% capture using more traditional baffle filters.

The filters have been tested by independent laboratories to prove their efficiency and flame reduction characteristics. No other commercial kitchen filters have been tested so extensively, which is why we know that grease can be removed by up to 94.6%.

The purpose of the Veritech Grease Filter is to remove condensable vapours from cooking extraction air. It does this by combining, in one simple product, a number of filtration principles:

Condensation- All vapours condense on the filter surface as heat is transferred from the air.

Inertial separation- Whilst the air is spun into the vortex the larger droplets of oil continue in a straight line.

Impingement- The larger droplets of oil then collide or impinge on the filter, and the oil-coated filter surface itself traps more oil due to the increased viscosity.

Settling- The larger particles and droplets formed simply settle due to gravity and are collected for recycling.

Product Specification

Each Veritech cartridge contains a large number of coils, known as curls, which remove grease and oil particles from the air. The Type 94 cartridge contains five curls deep, and between five and ten curls wide, depending on the Volume Flow rate the unit is handling. To comply with LPS 1263 standard, the curved section of the FC filter cup has a double surface to prevent direct exposure of the oil or fat to flames in case of fire.

Installation

Using an adapter kit, the Veritech cartridge grease filter is simply installed into new or existing kitchen canopies, replacing existing low efficiency baffle type filters.

Care

Oil and grease arrested by the unit is collected in the filter cup at the front of the unit, and can be recycled along with the spent oil from the frying range. The stainless steel filter can then be washed in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Depending on the level of cooking, the system can be washed daily are as part of a weekly cleaning routine.
