Plasma Clean’s recently installed odour control system has been heralded a success in eliminating cooking smells from The Dolphin Fish Bar and Restaurant in Gorton.
The system, called Xtract is a brand new air purification product, designed for commercial kitchens, incorporating patented plasma technology. It works by injecting ozone, ions and free radicals into the extraction ductwork to assist in the removal of odour, smoke and grease build up. The Xtract unit sits outside of the main ductwork and therefore performance is not compromised by grease and smoke particles. This also allows for installation with only minor modifications to the existing system.
Xtract will cost about half the price of UV systems to install and 30% less than chemical systems. With no chemical consumables and a minimal maintenance requirement, long-term costs are greatly reduced whether the system is retro-fitted to existing equipment or newly installed. The unit is unobtrusive and quiet, adding no extra noise in the kitchen which, added to its other advantages gives Xtract a long-term advantage over rival odour control systems.
Demetris Demetriou, the owner of the Dolphin says; “I could immediately see the benefit of the Xtract system and was surprised how quickly it was installed and it’s simplicity.” He adds, “I would have no problem in recommending this product”.
Commenting on the newly installed system at The Dolphin, David Glover, founder of Plasma Clean, stated that, “We were pleased to help a local business, and we could see immediately that the Dolphin in Gorton is a forward thinking business offering healthy food cooked in a clean environment.”
David is delighted with Plasma Clean’s progress stating, “Last year we won an R&D grant from the North West Regional Development Agency and more recently have received investment from various funds including NESTA, MTF and YFM as well as from private investors. We are now ready install Xtract into commercial kitchens across the UK and beyond, and the response from the trade has so far been very positive.”
George Whitehead Business Development Director of NESTA, which invested in Plasma Clean as a technology seed investment, and has continued to be a very supportive investor commented
“Seeing a business, which we backed at a very early stage, achieving its commercial objectives is immensely satisfying. This is an important step in the company’s development and we applaud the management team for what they have achieved so far. We have great confidence in the future prospects for Plasma Clean”
